Fortunately, evidence is accumulating that student affairs - in partnership with faculty members and academic administrators - "can intentionally create the conditions that enhance student learning and personal development" (Kuh, Palmer & Kish, 2002)

Service-Learning
Both long-term and short-term service learning opportunities are available for your students. New web-based sign-up for Community Challenge is also available, where students can track their service hours on-line. NU Portfolio
A web-based portfolio system that students can use to document and record academic and co-curricular experience. NU Portfolio is a dynamic way for students to organize and document their accomplishments and showcase their skills and experiences to advisors, faculty, and employers. Student Organizations
Faculty and staff working as advisors to Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) can get help from a variety of services and on-line information, including the NU Book, SOURCE sheets, and everything else you need to make your organization great. Register your student organization's events and apply for free Pepsi products through our Consultation Desk. Leadership Development
Develop student leadership in semester-long classes, week-long retreats, or one-on-one consultations. Gender Programs
Workshops, programs and discussion groups on relevant issues impacting men and women are available to compliment your coursework. A full resource library is also available to you and your students. Special Events
A variety of special events that connect students to outstanding world leaders, local issues, cultural interactions and social opportunities are available throughout the year. A listing of events is always available in the Nebraska Union on City Campus or on our web site.
