The Midwest Consortium for Service Learning in Higher Education (MCSLHE) and the University of Nebraska invite faculty, staff, community partners, graduate and undergraduate students to join us for the 3rd Annual MCSLHE Conference in Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Midwest Consortium
for Service-Learning in Higher Education (MCSLHE) is committed to increasing
the level of commitment, partnerships, support, and communication from
member institutions: expanding and diversifying the base of faculty
involved in service-learning; providing students with quality service-learning
opportunities; emphasizing civic engagement; improving relationships
with community partners; contributing to the field of service-learning
through research and evaluation. We are dedicated to upholding the
mission of the MCSLHE by addressing the following conference goals:
Strengthen the Consortium through enhanced communication among member institutions
Promote, share, and support efforts of higher education
institutions to strengthen their academic programs, research and evaluation,
communities, state, and nation through service-learning
Explore the meaning of service-learning and civic engagement within rural communities, included but not limited to the issues of poverty, immigration, and refugees
Improve communication and collaboration between community partners and member institutions by focusing on reciprocity
Promote student education and involvement within the field of service-learning, emphasizing student leadership and citizenship
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
We invite faculty, staff, community partners, graduate and undergraduate students to submit proposals for oral and poster presentations that address the conference gaols listed above.
Undergraduate Leadership Conference
New to the conference this year will be a portion
specifically directed towards undergraduate students. The Leadership
Conference will focus on promoting student leadership and citizenship
and will feature presentations from undergraduate students. Proposal
submissions from students are highly encouraged.
