Meet the Members of the Consortium JEREMY REHWALDT-ALEXANDER, MIDLAND LUTHERAN COLLEGE Jeremy
Rehwaldt-Alexander is an assistant professor of religion at Midland
Lutheran College, with a teaching emphasis on ethics, and he serves as
MLC’s coordinator for service learning. Jeremy has integrated service
learning into several of his courses, particularly an introductory
ethics course, “Power, Social Structures, and Moral Responsibility.”
The student-organized community projects have resulted in a number of
lectures and events, the formation of a student organization focused on
environmental issues, the implementation of a campuswide recycling
program, and a sleepout to raise awareness about issues of
homelessness. Jeremy earned a Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, M.T.S.
from Harvard Divinity School, and B.A. from Macalester College. His
research interests focus on the intersection of religion and social
problems, particularly Christian responses to issues of race, class,
and gender. In addition, he has worked in organizations addressing
homelessness, police misconduct, sexual assault, domestic violence,
youth violence, and racism. |
