Consortium Member Biography
ROBERT STACK, CHADRON STATE COLLEGE
Dr. Robert Stack is the Interim Dean of Students at Chadron State College. For the previous six years, Rob taught as an Associate Professor of Mathematics, also serving the last four years as department chair. Rob has used service-learning projects in his classes, including projects using edible math manipulatives. His teaching interests are in mathematics education, operations research, mathematics in sports, and writing to improve mathematical understanding. Prior to coming to Chadron State in 1998, Rob was a mathematics instructor and head baseball coach at the University of South Dakota for four years.
Rob earned all of his degrees from the University of South Dakota and is active in a number of professional organizations. He is the president-elect for the Nebraska Association of Teachers of Mathematics and was the recipient of the 2004 Nebraska State College System Teaching Excellence Award.
Rob and his wife, Jill, have been married for 14 years. There is never a dull moment around the house. Rob still coaches American Legion baseball during the summers, enjoys golfing, and playing with his six children.
