Consortium Member Biography

SARAH HIRSCH WITTMUSS,
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH DAKOTA

  Sarah Hirsch Wittmuss is the Associate Director of the Interdisciplinary Education & Action (‘IdEA’) Program, the interdisciplinary and civic engagement graduation requirement at the University of South Dakota. In this capacity she oversees the Student Action Office, the clearinghouse for service-learning, undergraduate research, and other extra-curricular and academic enrichment activities on campus. She also has been an adjunct instructor at the University in one of the IdEA Program interdisciplinary themes and in the School of Business. Sarah is a graduate of the University of South Dakota (BA ’93; JD ’96) and has been with the IdEA Program since 2001. Previously, she practiced law in a mid-size law firm in Rapid City, South Dakota, specializing in education, business, employment, and domestic law.
