Every Thursday 3:30-5pm
Bring your own project, work on one of ours, or use our supplies
to create something new! It's a great way to form community, take
time out of a busy schedule, and create something tangible, beautiful,
useful, yours.

All events except the banquet are free and open to the public. Tickets for the banquet may be purchased at the Nebraska Union Information Desk, City Campus for $20 or $10 for students.

Sunday, March 9: “Angels and Troublemakers” Performance by Pippa White
Location: St. Mark's on the Campus 13th and R st.

A one-woman play about “the great reformers, who endured threats, harassment and ridicule to end child labor, to improve conditions for the poor and oppressed, and to further women's rights.”

Collaboration and Craftwork: Celebrating Women's Traditional Knowledge
Location: Rotunda Gallery, Nebraska Union, 1400 R Street, Lincoln NE
Time: Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 5 pm.
Co-sponsors: Student Advocating Gender Equity (SAGE), International Quilt Study Center & Museum
An interactive, intergenerational display of quilting, knitting, beading and other crafts traditionally practiced by women. Come on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 5 pm for demonstrations and instruction in these techniques. Bring your own projects and join the creative community.
Monday, March 10: Luncheon “Women as Agricultural leaders in a Global Arena” by Jeannine Lane
Location: Nebraska East Campus Union

This presentation by a woman who has been actively involved in agriculture since 1984 focuses on empowering today’s young women to become tomorrow’s agricultural leaders in a global arena.

Tuesday, March 11: Luncheon “Women in Business: What you should know” by Susan Puglia

What women should know about the differences between men and women in leading in an organization. Susan will discuss a world-wide study done by leaders in the global economy of executive women and men that revealed strategies to address the advancement of both women and men. Learn tips on how to find and work effectively with a mentor.

Dr. Pamela K. Safisha Nzingha Hill is an Afrocentric educator, lecturer, writer and activist. She is
the executive director of “Liberation through Education, a venture she created as the foundation of
her research and lecture series. She is a student development practitioner and has served in higher
education for over a decade. She writes for a Houston based Black newspaper, African American
News and Issues, and has a weekly column titled, “Speak, Sistah, Speak”.

A panel of student leaders at UNL who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer identified. They will discuss the importance of LGBTQ representation across the campus, how to find leadership opportunities, and how they got involved.
Thursday, March 13: Third Annual Women's History Month Banquet: Celebrating 30 Years of Women's (and Gender) Studies at UNL

Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Women’s and Gender Studies Program at UNL.
